JP New Economy Transition CLF Info Session
May 10, 2016 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm
Join our friends at JP New Economy Transition (JP NET) for an informal Information Session to learn more about the Community Leaders Fellowship!
Do you have a passion for social justice? Do you want to help make your community, and the world, a better place? The Community Leaders Fellowship can help you apply your passions and discern a meaningful career path. Join our program for hands-on experience with one of JP NET’s community-based projects–such as the Boston Food Forest, Time Exchange, or Bilingual Event Series. We also provide personalized career coaching and tailored support.
You’ll develop versatile and tangible skills such as project development, communications, writing, public speaking, event planning, and organizing. And you’ll work with cutting-edge thinkers and doers who are reshaping our community and our world to meet today’s challenges, such as inequality, climate change, and social isolation.
Diversity is a core strength of our program. Fellows come from all over Boston, and are diverse in terms of race, class, age, and sexual orientation.
The CLF believes that every person has a role to play in creating the future we want. Let us help you find yours.
How It Works
The purpose of the CLF is to help you develop essential leadership skills through hands-on experience and practical career planning.
- Hands-On Work: As a Fellow, you will spend 8 hours per week working on one of JP NET’s projects. You’ll make substantial, concrete contributions to improve the community.
- Professional Coaching: You will have three one-on-one Professional Coaching sessions throughout the Fellowship (one three-hour Professional Development session and two one-hour sessions). You’ll develop a Career Plan informed by a holistic assessment of your “patterns,” gifts, and interests.
- Group Support: You will participate in five “Fellows Support Sessions” throughout the semester with the full cohort of Fellows, and get to know an inspiring network of staff, volunteers, and neighbors working for change.
JP NET is now accepting CLF applications for the Fall 2016 session (deadline: May 31). Please spread the word! To learn more, join us at an info session:
